Reality isn’t the enemy of artistry. A photograph doesn’t have to change a moment to make it beautiful. The best photographs show us what was already there, just in a way we may not have seen it before.
I care deeply about light, composition, color, and making a photograph feel beautiful. I just don’t think life needs to perform for the camera to get there.
While you’re with your people, I’m watching for the things happening just outside the obvious: the expression across the room, the hand reaching for yours, the people laughing at the edge of the frame.

Hi! I’m Emily
I’m a photographer, wife to Jeff, mama to Charlotte, and an incurable optimist living in Fairhope, Alabama.
I started this little business in 2017, and somewhere along the way, photography became so much more than a job. It has given me a front-row seat to people’s lives. I’ve photographed wedding days, growing bellies, babies who suddenly aren’t babies anymore, families in the thick of raising their people, and so many ordinary moments that somehow become the ones we miss the most.
That’s really what I love about photographs.
I love the beautiful portrait where everyone is looking at the camera, of course. But I really love what happens right before and right after it. The way your child reaches for your hand. The belly laughs. Windblown hair. The way your people naturally fit together. A wedding reception that feels a little chaotic in the best possible way. The stuff you couldn’t perfectly recreate if you tried.
My hope is that your photos feel like your life, only somehow you can hold it in your hands. And if I get to know you, love on your people, and photograph you again and again through the years, even better.
