Sydney and Hunter’s wedding was one of those days where I felt like I could have photographed forever. Sydney has incredible style, and every choice felt thoughtful without feeling overdone. Going into the day, she told me she loved photographs that felt traditional and cinematic, but that she wasn’t afraid of something a little moodier or more artistic. Basically, permission to play, which I happily took. From the quiet, dramatic moments inside Immaculate Conception to the beautiful light pouring into Marché, there was inspiration everywhere. And then, because it’s New Orleans, the night ended with everyone spilling into the street for a second line under a shower of confetti. Elegant, joyful, a little unexpected, and so much fun to photograph. This one felt like art to me.
